Football
The football coaching provided by the Offaly GAA and our local club, Raheen has really helped us improve our skills. Every Thursday afternoon for about twenty weeks of our school year each class gets half an hour's training.
We enter various football competitions also. The big competitions each year are the Cumann na mBunscol U-13 Championships. Down through the years Geashill N.S has had success in these. However nothing compared to the success of the 2007/2008 when we won our competition three times in a row and also our win in 2010. Final victories against Ballybryan, Bracknagh and Clonbullogue schools brought great excitement and pride to all of us in Geashill N.S.
We also qualified for the 2011 Cumann na Mbunscol final. However, despite playing very well, we were runners up to Tubber.
We qualified for the 2011 Cumann na mBunscol final on November 12th. The team played very well but unfortunately we were runners up to Croghan.
